Sixteen-year-old Katya Spivak is out for a walk on the gracious streets of Bayhead Harbor with her two summer babysitting charges when she’s approached by silver-haired, elegant Marcus Kidder. At first his interest in her seems harmless, even pleasant; like his name, a sort of gentle joke. His beautiful home, the children’s books he’s written, his classical music, the marvelous art in his study, his lavish presents to her — Mr. Kidder’s life couldn’t be more different from Katya’s drab working-class existence back home in South Jersey, or more enticing. But by degrees, almost imperceptibly, something changes, and posing for Mr. Kidder’s new painting isn’t the lighthearted endeavor it once was. What does he really want from her? And how far will he go to get it?

In the tradition of Oates’s classic story "Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been?" A Fair Maiden is an unsettling, ambiguous tale of desire and control.

HE CAN GUARD HER

Lady Phoebe Batten is pretty, vivacious, and yearning for a social life befitting the sister of a powerful duke. But because she is almost completely blind, her overprotective brother insists that she have an armed bodyguard by her side at all times-the very irritating Captain Trevillion.

FROM EVERY DANGER

Captain James Trevillion is proud, brooding, and cursed with a leg injury from his service in the King's dragoons. Yet he can still shoot and ride like the devil, so watching over the distracting Lady Phoebe should be no problem at all-until she's targeted by kidnappers.

BUT PASSION ITSELF

Caught in a deadly web of deceit, James must risk life and limb to save his charge from the lowest of cads-one who would force Lady Phoebe into a loveless marriage. But while they're confined to close quarters for her safekeeping, Phoebe begins to see the tender man beneath the soldier's hard exterior . . . and the possibility of a life-and love-she never imagined possible.

Marine explorer Dirk Pitt must rely on the nautical lore of Jules Verne to stop a ruthless oil baron with his sights set on political power in this #1 New York Times-bestselling series.

In the middle of its maiden voyage, a luxury cruise ship using revolutionary new engines suddenly catches fire and sinks. Its alarms stay silent; its sprinkler system remains inactive.  Nearby NUMA special projects director Dirk Pitt notices smoke and races to the rescue. He's too late to save the engineer behind the ship's new technology, but helps the man's daughter, Kelly Egan, escape with her father's work in a leather briefcase.

While Ms. Egan strives to uncover the hidden value in her father's inventions, Pitt is hired on by maritime insurers to investigate the wreckage. Neither are prepared for the mechanical marvels they'll soon be forced to confront. The machines could only be the stuff of legend, described in the tales of Viking explorers or the accounts of Jules Verne. And they may be Pitt and Egan's only hope when an oil tycoon with a plan of his own appears on the scene.

Before journey's end, Pitt will take on a power-mad millionaire, tread upon territory previously known only to Verne's illustrious Captain Nemo, and make shocking discoveries about his own past.

Bodhi arrives at a so small, it’s barely on the map village with only three things in mind: getting out of the heat, having a decent meal, and a better drink. She’s managed one of the three at the local tavern before she’s approached by a gorgeous maiden. That, in itself isn’t so unusual. Women are attracted to her on a regular basis.
What’s odd is the behavior of the locals. Everyone is acting strangely, including the beautiful Gwen. It doesn’t take Bodhi long to figure out something is terribly wrong in this seemingly peaceful, isolated village. The question is…what?
She’s a hero, a woman with a sword, and she knows how to use it. But, what’s a hero to do when no one will admit there’s anything amiss, much less ask for help, not even the maiden in distress…
What’s a virgin to do?
Gwendolyn is a proper, chaste maiden living in a small, remote village. Hers is a simple life, filled with back-breaking, mind-numbing chores.
That is, until an ogre appears, demanding a virgin offering by the next full moon. It’s her bad luck that she’s just the tender, young morsel the villagers are willing to serve up on a platter.
She tries everything she can to escape her fate, but finds herself out of options and out of time, doomed to be an offering for an ogre.
Then, along comes a stranger. She’s tall, she’s blonde, and she‘s a professional swordswoman. She’s also stunning enough to make many a maiden swoon. Problem is, she’s not at all the hero Gwendolyn imagined. She’s cocky, brazen, and rude. She’s also Gwen’s last, best hope.

"Something On My Mind" contains poems written throughout different stages of my spiritual journey which I call my life. The poems in this book depict various themes which range from life to love experiences. The poems are derived from realities of my life and relationships, but can be applied to everyday situations which everyone can relate to. The poems were composed by creatively organizing my thoughts and ideas into a truthful short story derived from these realities. Although most of the poems reflect on the truth about reality, some are considered abstract reality. The poems depicted as life poems reflect on the beauty of nature and also overcoming the trials and tribulations that life offers by practicing perseverance. The message that I want to convey through the poems which reflect on life is that life is worth living and although there may be some trials and tribulations in your life, it is best to appreciate your own life and the special privilege of living. The poems about love vary from friendships, boyfriend/girlfriend, and spirituality. The essence of the love poems reflects on empowering the reader to promote a healthier relationship, whether with a loved one or with the Creator, thus promoting a deeper connection of love. The message I hope to convey through the love poems is that in order to experience love, you must first love yourself, then love can be extended to others. The love poems were written to heal the soul and motivate the reader to experience personal and spiritual growth.
